MARLIN IRA MORRIS, 86, of Salem, Illinois died October 4, 2019 at his
Born November 27, 1932 in Kinmundy, IL, he was the son of Billy J. and Elsie (Maulding) Morris.
Marlin retired as a postal clerk for the Salem Postal Service. He entered into the insurance business as M & M Insurance Agency for 11 years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Salem Elk's Club, Salem VFW and Salem American Legion Post #128. He served in the U. S. Army.
He married Joyce Adele Haycock, March 3, 1957 in Flora, and she preceded him in death January 27, 2002. He then married Lorene Hays Fulford, September 2, 2005 in Salem and she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeff W. (Cindy) Morris of Milan, TN, Ann L. Morris, Muncie, IN, Mary (Kevin) Martin, Mt. Vernon, IL, and Julie (Ron) Hill, of Flora, IL, along with 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Also left to mourn his passing is one brother, Jack (Carolyn) Morris of Mayfield, KY, and sister-in-law Bonnie Morris of Flora, IL.
In addition to his first wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Darrel Morris.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church in Salem with Pastor Lori Harvey officiating. A private burial will be held at a later time.
Visiting hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour at the church on Friday.
Memorials may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital and will be received by the Rankin Funeral Home, entrusted with the family's care.
